It’s getting to be that time of year again.

Just when you thought the delicious meals and sweet desserts were far away in your rear-view mirror after the holiday season, we’re coming up on the arguably the sweetest day of them all (in more ways than one!).

I’m talking, of course, about Valentine’s Day!

February 14th is just a hair over three weeks away, and here at WildBerries, we’re already introducing our special Valentine’s Day desserts and confections for pre-ordering, or simply just a night of indulgence.

Back by popular demand, of course, are our devilishly cute and infamously delicious Tuxedo Strawberries! Our strawberries are “dressed to the nines” for the big day, in a combination of Milk and White chocolate, perfectly resembling little designer tuxedo’s!

And as always, we also hand-dip the most GIGANTIC strawberries we can find in the more conventional Dark, Milk, and White chocolates as well.

We also have our aptly-themed heart-shaped fresh-cream or chocolate-cream Red Velvet cakes. They are absolutely the perfect size to split between you and your honey. Plus, if you stop by anytime between now and February 14th, we’re offering free samples of this cake to our customers! (fresh-cream only, and of course, limit one per customer per visit).

For yet another year, our Chocolate Truffle collection continues to grow. Truffles make fantastic gifts for that special someone (we provide discounts AND gift boxes for orders of 12 or more), and we’re happy to mix and match flavors to your liking.

Same goes for our daily fresh-baked cookie collection. We will be introducing our Valentine’s Day themed (and messaged) cookies for sale individually, or by the pound.

One new addition this year is our home-made Brittle made from Cashews, Almonds, Hazelnuts, and Macadamia Nuts, which we also provide gift boxes for!

If any of these things excite you as much as they excite me, please come by and visit us! We’ll do our very best to make sure you leave with a delicious taste in your mouth and a smile on your face!

I love Dessert

Dessert.

The concept conjures up different images and feelings and emotions in almost everyone.

To some, it could be as simple as a small piece of antioxidant-rich Dark Chocolate after dinner. To others, it’s the warmth and comfort of a home-made chocolate cake with an ice cold glass of milk, just the way Mom would have served you. And to some others, it’s a few scoops of ice cream covered in hot fudge and sprinkles: a perfect symphony of flavors, temperatures, and textures.

To me, Desserts equal happiness. Creating them, preparing them, serving them, and watching people enjoy them – tt’s what gets me through my day.

Putting it simply: Desserts are my passion. Always have been, always will be.

Since I was old enough to bake in the oven by myself (without my parents having to worry about me burning our house down), I’ve fried and baked hundreds of different confections spanning the ethnic cuisines of Maryland to Mumbai.

And the best part about it is: I still learn new things every day.

So I’ve created this blog to talk about what’s cookin’ at my bakery – WildBerries – and talk desserts with fans and friends alike.

My name is Gita (Gene) Nanavati, and I’m the Owner and Head Pastry Chef of WildBerries Juice Bar & Bakery, located in the Westview Promenade shopping center in Buckeystown, MD.
